Frank J. Moore, 79, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:22 pm January 10, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. Mr. Moore was a member of the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge #31 AF and AM, Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois 32nd Degree Belleville, Illinois, member of Ainad Shrine Temple East St. Louis, and life member of Jefferson County Shrine Club also past president. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge for forty-four years, past district deputy, and Grand Exalted Ruler. Frank was on the Emergency Service and Disaster Agency Underwater Recovery Dive Team, he was an Eagle Scout, and a camp counselor for Camp Joy for many years. He was a fireman in the early 70’s at the Jefferson Fire Protection District, and was a volunteer fireman throughout his retirement. He was on the board of trustees for JFPD and was very proud of his service to the community. Frank was a loving father, grandfather and will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. An Elks, JFPD, and Shrine walk thru will be held between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Reverend Stacy Tate and Brother Brad Ryan officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Frank’s honor to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or JFPD Volunteers. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 10 people under the tent at a time. Following the CDC and NFDA regulations, we encourage everyone to wear a mask. They will be made available, upon request. Frank is survived by his children, Laura Lee Bayer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Michael Moore and wife, Lisa of Greenville, South Carolina, Mark Alan Moore of Saint Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Bryan K. Bayer and wife, Hillary of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Joanna Bayer of Nashville, Tennessee, Avery Moore and fiancé, Sam Stewart of Charlestown, Massachusetts, Andrew Moore of Boston, Massachusetts; great-grandchildren, Addisyn Bradley, Brennan Bayer, and Brogan Bayer; and brothers, Terry Moore and wife, Connie of Bonnie, Illinois, Jim Moore and wife, Marianne of Belleville, Illinois.
He was born May 13, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late William Bernerd and Joanna (Rhine) Moore. Frank married Frances Ann (Laird) Moore on March 1, 1960. They had forty-one beautiful loving years together before she preceded him in death on November 22, 2001. He later married Linda (Payne) Moore on January 2, 2003 and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2021. In addition to his parents, first wife, Frances, and second wife, Frank was preceded in death by her infant brother; son-in-law, Mark E Bayer; and parents-in-law.
