Vernon woman receives minor injuries in car-deer crash in Patoka

A 53-year-old Vernon woman was injured in a car-deer crash on U.S. 51 at Lincoln Street in Patoka late Tuesday night.

Initial information from the Patoka Fire Department indicates Barbara Jane Perkins was traveling northbound when the deer ran out in front of her car and an airbag deployed.

Perkins complained of arm and chest injury. She was treated on the scene by Patoka Ambulance and later released.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy reports are not yet complete on the crash.
