Three area residents were injured in a car-semi crash on Interstate 64 at milepost 101 in Wayne County Wednesday morning.

State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates a car driven by 56-year-old Cary Jackson-Kallemback of Dahlgren and a semi driven by 42-year-old Tosha Swink of St. Louis were both traveling eastbound in the right lane.  Kallemback entered the left lane and attempted to pass the semi, but crossed the centerline roadway markings and struck the truck.

Kallemback and two passengers in her car, 77-year-old Betty Noble of Mt. Vernon and 50-year-old Christine Whitlock of Opdyke, were all transported to a local area hospital with injuries.

Kallemback was ticketed for improper lane usage, driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured vehicle.

The crash occurred at 8:20 Wednesday morning.
