Two Taylorville residents were injured in a single-vehicle crash near Patoka early Wednesday afternoon.

State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates 50-year-old Robby Pearson of Taylorville was traveling northbound on U.S. 51 just south of Clinton Avenue when he ran off the right side of the road into a ditch.  The car then struck a culvert and overturned in the ditch.

Both Pearson and a passenger, 50-year-old Melinda Blades of Taylorville, were transported to a local area hospital with injuries.

Pearson was ticketed for improper lane usage.

The crash occurred at 12:55 Wednesday afternoon.
