2021 01/26 – Norma Jean Beal

Norma Jean Beal, 88, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:10 pm January 21, 2021 at her home. Norma Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:00 pm at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Norma’s honor to East Salem Cemetery. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. We are limited to 50 people in the tent at a time. Norma Jean is survived by her children, Tricia Wagner and husband, David of Mount Vernon and James Beal and companion, Carol of Benson, Arizona; three granddaughters, Sarah Pugh and husband, Charles of O’Fallon, Illinois, Gina Sanchez of Phoenix, Arizona, and Ceceilia Sanchez of Oracle, Arizona; sister, Marie Bond and husband, Ed of Dix; brother, Richard Mulvaney and wife, Kristie of Evansville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Lillie Arnett of Texico; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born August 9, 1932 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late John Harvey and Margaret (Lang) Mulvaney. Norma Jean married Jim E. Beal on January 14, 1949 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2021. In addition to her parents and beloved husband of seventy-two years Norma Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Mulvaney and Irvin “Jack” Mulvaney and sister-in-law, Shirley Mulvaney.
