2021 01/27 – D. Scott Luallen

D. Scott Luallen, age 70 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at his home in Salem. Scott was an Elder at Evergreen Christian Church for many years. He retired from World Color Press in Salem. In his younger years he worked as an EMT.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. There will be a visitation from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing will be encouraged. Masks will be available at request. Memorial contributions can be made to C.O.P.E. (Children of Pokot Educational Fund), and can be left at the funeral home. Survivors include two sons, Jacob Luallen and wife Sarah of Johnson City, TN and Justin Luallen of Salem; daughter, Erin Luallen and husband Kaleb of Salem; three grandchildren, Bronwyn Schulte, Shade Luallen, and Teeghen Luallen; sister, Beth Hoffman and husband Kent of Vandalia.

Scott was born on October 18, 1950 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Duane E. and Betty Anne (Joines) Luallen. He married Donna K. (Beets) Luallen on May 21, 1974 in Salem, Illinois and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2018.
