Kaskaskia College February Community and Continuing Education feature Understanding Medicare and Social Security; Learning How-To Courses

Kaskaskia College Community and Continuing Education are offering 17 courses during February at the district’s education centers.

Courses feature a wide range of topics for students all of ages, including Understanding Medicare and Social Security, cupcake decorating, essential oils, digital photography, watercolor painting, and more! The Beekeeping series will also continue with courses on February 1 (Keeping Bees Healthy), 8 (Honey Production), and 22 (Queen Bee Rearing).

Understanding Medicare will be offered on February 2 at the Kaskaskia College Crisp Technology Center in Centralia, February 9 in Nashville, and February 25 in Salem. This $25 course gives participants and caregivers an opportunity to ask questions about navigating Medicare options and plans in a non-sales environment. Understanding Social Security will be offered on February 16 in Vandalia and February 23 at the Crisp Center in Centralia. Course cost is $10 and the seminar explains how to start social security benefits and what to expect in retirement.

• 2/25 & 3/4, Android Smartphone Basics, Vandalia, $20
• 2/25, Painted Sign Design, Nashville Education Center, $35

Space is limited for all classes due to COVID-19 guidelines. All students must pre-register for classes.
