The Centralia City Council Monday night will be asked to approve the new structure and the first members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and the Cemetery Advisory Commission.
The two commissions will each have seven members with staggered four-year terms with half coming up for appointment every two years.
If the council approves, Mayor Herb Williams has submitted the first appointees to the new groups.
Those being submitted for appointment to the Parks and Recreation Committee are Carleka Spann, Olen “Butch” Border, Calvin Lawson, Dave Agee, Ricky Garrett, Jack Graham, and Irene Young.
The first proposed members of the Cemetery Advisory Commission are Melissa Patton, Eric Collins, Wayne Sensel, Hugh Moran, Barbara Crain, Stella Schilling, and Tom Macz.
If approved, the appointments take place immediately.
The commission replaces the old Cemetery and Parks Committee and Recreation Committee to allow for each group to have a better concentration of duties.
