Marion County reports 13 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend

The Marion County Health Department is reporting 13 new cases of the coronavirus over the weekend and Monday.   There were no additional deaths.  Of the 13 new cases, none were long-term care residents and one was a student who was not at school during their infectious period.  Eight of the cases are considered community spread and five are the results of household or close contacts.

The health department is currently reporting 50 active cases, including nine who are hospitalized.   4,006 are now listed as recovered, including 13 during the past three days.    The county has had 111 deaths.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 11 new positive cases.  42 remain on home isolation and five are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 33 new cases over the weekend and Monday, including 15 from the Big Muddy Correctional Center.  55 positive cases remain in isolation.

The Washington County Health Department is reporting three new lab-confirmed cases on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.   There are currently eight active cases and no one that is hospitalized.

The Clay County Health Department is reporting only two new COVID-19 cases over the weekend.

Statewide, 1,246 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday.  There were 34 additional deaths.  None were in South Central Illinois.   One was in Madison County.   The new statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is 2.8-percent.
