The Salem Wildcats fell to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the Cahokia with their road loss at Breese Central 55-33. Salem had the game cut to 2 points in the 3rd quarter but a 17-5 fourth quarter sealed it for Central. Caden Bee was the only Cat in double figures with 13, Haddon Lybarger fouled out with 7 points. 6-6 big man Kyle Athmer had 14 to lead 3 in double figures for Central, followed by 12 each from Brady Moore and Nick Warnecke. Salem will return to action at home on Thursday when they host Freeburg before welcoming Columbia Saturday afternoon.
The South Central Cougars lost for the first time this season falling at home to St Anthony 44-38. Keenin Willshire had 20 for the Cougars in the loss. Collin Miller finished with 12. The Cougars are 3-1 overall and 2-1 in NTC as they will play at Waltonville this afternoon.
