1,884 new cases and 32 additional COVID-19 deaths reported on Thursday

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 1,884 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease on Thursday.  There were 32 additional deaths.  None were in South Central Illinois, but Madison and Monroe Counties in Southwestern Illinois reported two deaths apiece.

The seven-day statewide positivity rate fell to 2.5-percent.   Marion County’s positivity rate is 1.1-percent.

Illinois hit a new daily high for vaccines administered at 130,021.   A total of 2,440,950 vaccines have now been administered in the state.

The Marion County Health Department did not release an update on Thursday and will issue a two-day report on Friday.
