The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 1,780 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease on Saturday. They are also reporting 34 additional deaths. None were in South Central Illinois.
The statewide positivity rate fell to 2.4-percent for the past seven days. Marion County’s positivity rate has fallen to just seven-tenths of a percent.
Another 83,048 doses of vaccine were administered on Friday, bring the total number of vaccines to 2,626,668. In Marion County, 6,386 doses of vaccine have been administered. 1,924 are fully vaccinated, which is 5.11-percent of the population.
