Legislation filed to return to paper election ballots

State Senator and Republican Gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey of rural Xenia has filed a bill in Springfield to bring back the use of paper ballots.

Bailey feels they are the best and most reliable way to secure vote counts and to restore public confidence in elections.   He notes paper ballots aren’t hooked to a modem, connected to the internet, and susceptible to hackers or electronic fraud.

Bailey says the legislation also contains a requirement that the Illinois State Board of Elections implements software that would monitor and detect vulnerabilities in the security of voter registration rolls.
