Salem Fire Protection District Firemen say a fire at the Hardee’s Restaurant on Sunday night was confined to a deep fryer where it started.
Firemen say the employees had evacuated prior to their arrival. The fire was still burning when they entered the restaurant, but it was quickly extinguished.
A dry chemical was used to put out the fire which needed to be cleaned up before the restaurant could seek an inspection by the Marion County Health Department to reopen.
The fire call came in at 9:24 Sunday night.
