Marion County Health Department reports two new cases of COVID-19

The Marion County Health Department is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.    Neither are long-term care residents or students.  Both cases are considered community spread.

There are currently 10 active cases, including three in the hospital and one on a ventilator.   There were 26 released from isolation on Wednesday.

There were two new cases reported in Clinton County on Wednesday.  Fifteen remain in isolation and none are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department has gone a second day without a new case.  13 remain in isolation.

The Washington County Health Department reported three new cases on Tuesday and Wednesday.   There are currently five on isolation.

Statewide, 3,536 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus were reported on Wednesday.   There were 31 additional deaths.   The deaths included one apiece in Madison and Richland Counties in Southern Illinois.

The seven-day preliminary statewide positivity rate is at 4.2-percent.

Another 138,536 doses of vaccine were administered, bringing the total number of vaccinations to nearly 7.5-million.
