Salem Wildcats Win Tri-Meet, Lady Cats Are 2nd

The Salem track team hosted a meet with Centralia and Mt Vernon at the high school yesterday.  Salem won the boys event with 72 points to Mt Vernon’s 63 and Centralia 31.  Taking first for the Cats were Logan Rubin in the long jump, Caleb Smith the shot, Haddon Lybarger 400, Ethan Pride triple jump along with the 4×200 relay team of Hayden Hopkins, TJ Gillett, Kaleb Lang and Ryder Goff.

Taking 2nd for the Salem boys were Ethan Pride in the high jump, Smith in the discus Jacob Ware the 3200, Creed Phillips in the 110 high hurdles and 300m intermediate hurdles, Rubin in the 100 and 200, Brennan Harris in the shot.  Also finishing 2nd were the 4×100 team of Hopkins, Gillett, Lang and Goff as well as the 4×400 team of Phillips, Lybarger, Rhylan Crane and Alec Bandy.

Centralia won the girls event with 82 points followed by Salem with 43 and then Mt Vernon with 29.  Winning events for Salem were Gracie Alli in the high jump as well as the 4×800 relay team of Goostree, Madi Smith, Abbie Smith and Bella Krajefska.

Finishing 2nd for Salem were Miranda Podergois in the discus, Mollie Walker in the shot, Abbie Smith the 400 as well as the 4×400 relay of Goostree, Alli, Krajefska and Smith as well as the 4×200 team of Brin Metcalf, Mollie Donoho, Savannah Nichols and Mallory Moore.
