2021 04/19 – Connie E. Brink

Connie E. Brink, 73 of Hoyleton, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Connie was a graduate of Centralia High School. She worked at Phyllis Fabric in Centralia where she sewed Mae Fete dresses. She later worked at the Hoyleton AG store and was an insurance producer and partner in Lehde Brink Insurance Agency. She and her husband did DJ events but mostly, she was a farm wife working side by side with her husband. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Hoyleton, the Hoyleton American Legion Auxillary and served 16 years on the Washington County Board where she was instrumental in building the new jail. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and canning vegetables.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Zion United Church of Christ in Hoyleton with Rev. Sharon Patton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion UCC. Styninger Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.

She married Ralph F. Brink on June 5, 1966 in Hoyleton. Besides her husband of nearly 55 years, she is survived by twin daughters; Sherry (Clay) Goestenkors of Aviston and Shawn (Jeff) Matecki of Ashley. 2 brothers; Gary (Nancy) Tubbs of Centralia and David (Kathy) Tubbs of DuBois. A sister Geraldine (Rollan) Schnitker of Hoyleton. 4 grandchildren; Kasie (Danny) Dlubala, Nicholas Brink, Austin Matecki and Dustin Matecki. 3 great grandchildren; Sailor Gutzler-Dlubala, Kamryn and Austyn Dlubala. Brother in law Howard( Patty Brink) of Hoyleton.

She was born on April 5, 1948 in Centralia, the daughter of Leslie and Bernice Nierman Tubbs.
