The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting a COVID-19 related death in Jefferson County. The death of a female in her 90s was one of 21 additional deaths being reported statewide for Friday. There was also a death in Madison County, with most of the other deaths in the Chicago area.
There were also 3,866 new confirmed or probable cases of the virus. The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days remains at 4.2-percent.
Another 129,664 doses of vaccine were delivered on Thursday, bringing the total to nearly 7.8-million.
The Marion County Health Department did not release an update on the case Friday.
Clinton County had no new cases on Friday. 12 remain on home isolation. None are hospitalized.
The Jefferson County Health Department reports one new case and nine currently in isolation.
