A 25-year-old Nashville, Illinois man is being held at the Marion County Jail on multiple charges after an altercation outside SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital early Saturday morning.
Centralia Police arrested Cornell Hannah of South Kaskaskia Street for alleged aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting arrest, and violation of bail bond.
Police report they initially went to the hospital to wait for Hannah to come out after he had allegedly called a person he was not allowed to contact as a condition of bond release on the phone to pick him up. When Hannah saw police, he allegedly tried to run out a side door and was stopped by a security guard. An altercation pursued where a responding Centralia Police officer sustained a shoulder injury prior to Hannah being taken into custody.
The incident occurred at 2:30 Saturday morning.
