Salem Fire Protection District firefighters say no buildings were endangered in a Friday afternoon brush fire that covered three to five acres in the 4900 block of Quail Run Road northeast of Salem.
The cause of the fire was not determined. The ownership of the property was also not clear.
The call was one of three answered by Salem Firemen on Friday. They were also called to the I-57 southbound rest area where no fire was found. Firemen also began to respond to a fire alarm at the Salem Holiday Inn Express that apparently was pulled in a domestic dispute.
