Marion County Health Department reports three new COVID-19 cases

The Marion County Health Department is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.  Health Department officials say one of the cases is in a student where contact tracing is underway.   Two of the cases are considered community spread and one is the result of a household or close contact.   There are currently 18 active cases, one of whom is in the hospital.   No one was released from isolation on Friday.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting ten new cases.  There are currently 25 on home isolation and two who are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department had one new case to report on Friday.  12 are currently on isolation.

The Washington County Health Department is reporting two new cases on Thursday and Friday.  There are currently three on isolation.

Statewide, 3,369 new cases of COVID-19 were reported along with 22 additional deaths.  None of the deaths were in Southern or South Central Illinois.

The statewide positivity rate has fallen to 3.6-percent.  Another 126,525 doses of vaccine were administered on Thursday, bringing the total to over 8.6-million.
