Franklin Park hosted a multi-team track meet at SCHS yesterday.
The Bobcats were winners scoring 141 points to Flora’s 58.5, Fairfield 53 and Mt Vernon 12.5. First place finishers for Salem were Frank Podergois in the shot, Noah Nix in the discus, Keaton Gullion in the long jump, Ryegan Warren jumped 5 ft to tie for first in the high jump, Cooper Lobek won the pole vault, Patten the hurdles and 400, Robbie Shober won the mile, Trey Clark the 6th grade 100, Angel Salgado in the 7th grade 100, Caidien Beer won the 800. Salem also won all the relays with included the 6th grade 4×100 relay featuring Andrew Greene, Avery Gullion, Madden Thompson and Landon Maxey were less than a second off the school record.
The Lady Cats won their event with 137 points followed by Flora with 50, Fairfield 44 and then Mt Vernon with 19. Winning events for Salem were Lilly Blagoue who went over 93 feet in the discus, Collier won the long jump, Finley Puricelli the high jump, Logan Bandy in the pole vault, Bullard won the hurdles, Puricelli won the 400 and 200, Brylee Pennypacker was the 6th grade 100 champ, Bullard in the 7th grade and Collier the 8th grade. The Lady Bobcats also won all of the relays.
