Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, The Flaming Lips & more join virtual Tibet House US benefit concert lineup

Courtesy MandolinIggy Pop, Patti Smith and The Flaming Lips have joined the lineup for the 2021 Tibet House US Benefit Concert, streaming online February 17.

The annual event — which, in non-pandemic times, is usually held in-person at New York City’s Carnegie Hall — raises money for Tibet House US, a non-profit organization founded in 1987 that works to preserve Tibetan culture.

Previously announced performers include Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder, Alabama ShakesBrittany Howard, indie musician Phoebe Bridgers, singer-songwriter Valerie June, and avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson.

Other new additions to the lineup include Smith’s daughter Jesse Paris Smith, dancer and performer Saori Tsukada, and the musical collective Chocolate Genius, Inc., featuring Marc Anthony Thompson and his daughter, actress Tessa Thompson.
