Patti Smith, Iggy Pop & more join virtual Tibet House US benefit concert lineup

Courtesy MandolinPatti Smith and Iggy Pop are among the artists that have joined the lineup for the 2021 Tibet House US Benefit Concert, streaming online on February 17.

The annual event — which in non-pandemic times is usually held in-person at New York City’s Carnegie Hall — raises money for Tibet House US, a non-profit organization founded in 1987 that works to preserve Tibetan culture.

Previously announced performers include Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder, Alabama ShakesBrittany Howard, indie musician Phoebe Bridgers, singer-songwriter Valerie June, and avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson.

Other new additions to the lineup include Smith’s daughter, Jesse Paris Smith, veteran alternative rockers The Flaming Lips, dancer and performer Saori Tsukada, and the musical collective Chocolate Genius, Inc., featuring Marc Anthony Thompson and his daughter, actress Tessa Thompson.
